Mansfield Record
For the past couple of weeks, I had been hearing people singing the praises of one of Mansfield’s newest spots, Boss Burgerz. Craving a juicy burger, my significant other and I headed to East Broad Street to give it a try.
Located in the strip center next to Market Street grocery, Boss Burgerz can be hard to find, unless you’re looking for it. It’s tucked between a physical therapy center and a nail salon. It’s worth the hunt.

The first thing we noticed was that the place is small, has a massive and unique mural on one side wall and that the lone guy behind the counter is working hard.
Though we came for burgers, my significant other got distracted by a photo of a Chicken Bacon Ranch on a hoagie bun, and he was sold. Boss Burgerz has a location in Arlington, but the Mansfield spot just opened at the beginning of August, so they didn’t have the grilled chicken or hoagie yet, but they promised him chicken strips on a big bun, plus a side of fries and a drink for $13.50. He was in.
Instead of fries, he opted for onion strings (which came with a side of ranch for dipping). The Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich was an explosion of flavors, crispy tenders and chipotle mayo, which gave the sandwich some zing. His comment “There’s a lot going on in this sandwich!” He really enjoyed it and the onion strings.
I was focused on the burgers and chowed down on a Classic Cheeseburger, which included lettuce, cheese, pickles, tomatoes, mayo and ketchup, plus a side of fries and a drink for $13.99 (All the burgers come with fries and a drink.)
This bad boy was big, chargrilled and juicy. It was leaking out the back while I was eating out of the top, which I have always thought was a sign of a good burger. I chose sweet potato fries instead of the regular ones, and these were good! Hand-cut, these fries were slender enough to be crispy, but thick enough to still be tender. Some of the best I have had.

There’s eight more burgers that we intend to return and try, especially the Mushroom & Swiss, Argentinian Burger (with pickled red onion, chimichurri and Swiss cheese) and the OKC Smashburger (two patties with grilled onion and bacon).
There’s also chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and hot dogs, plus tots, mac & cheese, fried pickles and fried jalapenos.
The place isn’t tiny, just compact with only four tables for four, five more high-top tables for couples and a bar seating area looking out over the parking lot. Order at the counter and they’ll call your name.
The Details: Boss Burgerz is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday; closed Sunday. The restaurant is at 3141 E. Broad St., Suite 205. bossburgerz.com; 682-407-2809
