North Texas SC wins in shootout

North Texas SC (7-8-7, 31 points) won the extra-point penalty shootout 3-1 after drawing 0-0 in regulation with Austin FC II (15-2-6, 53 points) to earn two points Wednesday night at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium.

Goalkeeper Eryk Dymora made two saves in regulation and three saves in the extra-point penalty shootout to secure two points for North Texas. Wednesday marks Dymora’s second clean sheet of the season and third penalty shootout win in 17 matches this season.

Midfielder Lucas Martins made his first start for the club, playing 63 minutes in Wednesday’s match. He has three appearances this season since joining the club in July 2026.

North Texas continues its homestand at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium against MNUFC II on Saturday, Aug. 22. The match is presented by Every Car Can and kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. Watch the match on MLSNEXTPro.com and OneFootball.com.
