
A 50-year-old woman was fatally stabbed and another woman was injured in a domestic disturbance Saturday night in Mansfield.
At approximately 10:51 p.m. Saturday, Mansfield police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of Morgan Road. Officers were informed that multiple individuals were fighting behind the residence. Officers encountered two adult females and one adult male.
A 50-year-old woman was found with multiple stab wounds, while a 43-year-old woman also sustained injuries. A 43-year-old male was uninjured. Officers
separated and secured the individuals and began administering lifesaving measures to the critically injured female while requesting emergency medical assistance.
Mansfield Fire Department paramedics arrived and continued lifesaving efforts on both females, who were transported to Methodist Mansfield Hospital.
The critically injured female was pronounced dead at 11:55 p.m.
The residence and property was secured as a crime scene, and detectives along with crime scene personnel responded to continue the investigation. Investigators conducted interviews with all involved parties and collected evidence related to the incident.
Preliminary findings indicate the incident began as a verbal altercation between the three individuals, which escalated into a physical confrontation between the two females. During the altercation, a knife was allegedly used by Jarishia Jackson, resulting in fatal injuries to the victim.
Jackson, 43, was arrested and charged with murder. After she was released from the hospital, she was transported to the Mansfield Police Department Jail for booking.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will positively identify the deceased, notify the family and determine the official cause and manner of death.
