Field goal puts Mansfield over Plano

Mansfield used a fourth-quarter field goal to take down Plano 31-28 Thursday night at Vernon Newsom Stadium.

The Tigers (2-1) started strong, going up 14-0 in the first quarter, but Plano (0-3) answered in the second quarter with 13 to make it 14-13 at the half.

Mansfield scored another pair of touchdowns in the third quarter to Plano's 8 points, but the Wildcats knotted the score at 28 all in the fourth-quarter. A 35-yard field goal from the Tigers' Deuce Hutchinson sealed the win for Mansfield in the final quarter.

Legacy (0-2) will celebrate homecoming at 7 p.m. Friday, hosting Colleyville Heritage (1-1) at Vernon Newsom Stadium.

Other Friday games include, Lake Ridge (1-1) at Lake Highlands (1-1) at 7 p.m., Timberview (2-0) at Richardson (1-1) at 7 p.m. and Summit (0-2) at Midlothian Heritage (0-2) at 7 p.m.
