The city’s fourth annual Snowman Run almost lived up to its name, failing to produce actual snow but temperatures low enough to keep a snowman happy.

When the 5K race and fun run took off at 9 a.m. Saturday at Katherine Rose Memorial Park, temperatures were hovering at 36 degrees, but it was the 22 mph winds that had the runners breathing hard.

The cold may have kept away some of the 100 runners that signed up for the race, but hot chocolate at the finish line warmed up the runners who competed.
