Mansfield police and the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force arrested a suspect in Monday’s driveway assault of a woman in central Mansfield.

Alquitarius Jordan, 32, of Mansfield was taken into custody in the 800 block of East Dallas Street without incident Thursday and charged with assault bodily injury and unlawful restraint. He was also found to have a Texas parole violation.

“I am thankful for vigilant citizens in our community who provided information that led to the identification and arrest of the suspect,” said Mansfield Police Chief Tracy Aaron. “Teamwork bolsters our public safety efforts to make a stronger community.”

At 5:15 a.m. Monday, Mansfield police responded to a report of a woman being attacked in her driveway in the 800 block of Kay Lynn Street, near the intersection of East Broad Street and Walnut Creek Drive. The female said that she was sitting inside her vehicle and when she opened her driver’s door to exit, she saw a man crouched near the rear of her vehicle. The suspect assaulted her, causing minor injuries. When she yelled for help and defended herself, the suspect ran away.

Mansfield detectives quickly identified Jordan with the help of numerous leads through social media and tips generated with the assistance from traditional media outlets. Jordan remains in the Mansfield City Jail on with a total bond set of $20,000.
