Mansfield ISD kicks off school year with Back to School Bash

Mansfield ISD gets fired up early, hosting the annual Back to School Bash from 7:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 6 at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for Performing Arts, 1110 W. Debbie Lane.

The free event will provide vaccinations, haircuts, backpacks, school supplies, shoes, eye exams, dental exams, mental health resources, physicals, voter registration, a mammogram bus, bounce houses, games, dunking booths and fun for Mansfield ISD students.

To receive shoes, students must be present to be fitted. Limit two pair per family. Parents or guardians should have the student’s ID number at the event.

Free shuttles will be available at Legacy High School, 1263 N. Main St., and Summit High School, 1071 Turner Warnell Road.

“This district-wide celebration is the official kickoff to the new school year and will include activities, games, student health services, giveaways, including school supplies, backpacks and more, all completely free of charge for Mansfield ISD students,” said Donald Williams, Associate Superintendent of Communications & Marketing.

“MISD campuses and local businesses will host booths with fun activities and important information for back to school. We are grateful for the partnership and generosity of our local businesses and community sponsors who make this event possible. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate the kickoff to the 2022-23 school year!”
