Mansfield Record
Need some help putting presents under the tree this Christmas? Or want to help?
Common Ground Network is registering applicants online at http://bit.ly/CGChristmas2020 from Oct. 16-22 and planning two days of in-person applications, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 23-24 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1188 W. Broad St.
Common Ground, a non-profit group of churches and community organizations, has been helping families with Christmas for more than two decades. The group helped coordinate gifts for 1,200 children last year.
The program is for children age 2-12. Parents or guardians will need to show the child’s birth date with a birth certificate, Medicaid card or school records. All applicants must present personal identification with a photo, proof of income and proof of address.
Applicants for in-person registration will need to wear a mask. Only one family member will be admitted and no children will be allowed inside.
The organization also needs volunteers, especially Spanish speakers. Volunteer shifts will be 8:30 a.m.-noon and 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 23-24. To volunteer, contact Vicky Hale at vickyh@fmcm.org.
