A win and two misses for Mansfield ISD football

District play opened Friday night for three Mansfield ISD football teams and ended with a win and a pair of misses.

Mansfield (3-1) went to Waco to best the Waco Lions (0-4) 34-28.

Lake Ridge (0-4) fell to Cedar Hill (2-2) 38-20 at Newsom Stadium, while Timberview (1-3) lost a heartbreaker at Everman (2-2) 35-33.

Next week Timberview and Summit will celebrate their homecomings at Newsom Stadium.

The Wolves will host Joshua on Thursday night, and the Jaguars will battle Burleson Centennial on Friday night.

Also in action Friday night, Mansfield will host DeSoto at R.L. Anderson Stadium, Lake Ridge will head to Waxahachie and Legacy will be at Red Oak.
