1 killed in three-vehicle crash

One person was killed in a three-vehicle accident on US 287 on Thursday afternoon.

Mansfield police responded to a crash in the 2400 block of US 287 at 4:54 p.m. A maroon vehicle rear ended a white SUV, which caused the SUV to spin and strike a blue SUV, according to the police report. A male in his 20's who was an occupant in the maroon car was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police closed the northbound lanes of traffic for several hours to conduct an investigation.

The crash is still be investigated. The deceased will be identified once next-of-kin have been notified.
