Mansfield asks residents to re-create history

The Mansfield Historic Landmark Commission invites the community to become part of history by re-creating a historic photo to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

Participants are encouraged to recreate historic photographs from Mansfield’s past. Select an old photo from the contest gallery, visit the same location or stage a modern recreation of the scene. Submissions will highlight how the city has changed — and what has remained the same — over time.

The contest is open to all ages. Individuals, families, groups, clubs and classrooms may participate. Each participant may submit up to three entries.

Respect private property — do not enter restricted areas. Be respectful in cemeteries and at sacred or memorial sites. Photos must correspond to an original contest image.

Minor editing is allowed (cropping, light adjustments). No AI image generation.

By submitting an entry, participants grant the City permission to share submitted photos publicly (with credit) for exhibits, publications, and social media.

Winners will be announced Oct. 3 at the Founders Day Festival.
