NCAA Division II tourney selects hospital as medical provider

The Lone Star Classic NCAA Division II Softball Tournament has selected Methodist Mansfield Medical Center as the Official Medical Provider for the Softball Tournament Jan. 30-Feb. 1 at the Fields at Station 63, bringing its leading sports medicine expertise to one of the region’s premier collegiate competitions.

As the elite provider of sports medicine in the community, Methodist Mansfield, was chosen for its proven excellence in caring for athletes at every level — from youth leagues to professional teams.

“We are honored to have Methodist Mansfield Medical Center as the Official Medical Provider for the Lone Star Classic Div II Softball Tournament,” said Robb Behymer, president of Top Gun Events. “Their presence at the tournament will enhance the stature of this great event.”

The hospital’s experienced sports medicine physicians and certified athletic trainers will be on-site throughout the tournament to deliver comprehensive medical coverage, injury evaluation and rapid-response care for all participating teams.

The Lone Star Classic tournament will bring top collegiate softball teams from across the country to compete in Mansfield, offering athletes, coaches, and fans, a first-class experience supported by world-class medical care.
