Santa Claus is coming to the FaLaLaLa 5K, and so are a bunch of runners on Saturday, Dec. 13.

The 13th annual run raises funds for the Kiwanis Club of Mansfield’s charities, like Feed the Kids, Mansfield Mission Center, leadership training for Mansfield ISD Key Clubs and annual scholarships for high school seniors.

“My favorite part is watching the kids sprint at the end,” said Jon Tamayo, race director.

And there will be a lot of kids – close to 40 percent of the runners will be young people, Tamayo said.

The 5K will start and end at Run United, 650 US 287 Frontage Road, taking off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and running along the linear trail.

The party will include the Arlington-Mansfield Y on the Fly activities, a disc jockey, visits with the Jolly Old Elf and everyone who finishes the run will get a jingle bell. Bring a food item to donate to the Mansfield Mission Center’s food market and receive a free Santa headband or reindeer antlers.

Runners can sign up until 8 a.m. Saturday morning at https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=141669. Cost is $35 for adults and $30 for ages 3-18.
