Methodist Mansfield Medical Center announced it has been awarded an "A" in the Fall 2025 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, the highest possible rating for patient safety. This achievement marks the hospital's second consecutive "A" grade this year, following an "A" in the spring 2025 rating period, and demonstrates a sustained, system-wide commitment to patient well-being.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, an independent national nonprofit organization, assigns letter grades to 3,000 U.S. general hospitals twice a year, based on their performance in preventing medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections. The grading system is peer-reviewed, transparent, and free to the public, serving as a vital resource for consumers seeking the safest care.
"Consistently earning an 'A' grade is a testament to the dedication of our physicians, nurses, and staff who prioritize the highest standards of safety and quality every day," said Juan Fresquez, President of Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. "Our team works relentlessly to implement best practices and cultivate an environment where patient safety is the No. 1 priority, and we are proud to see those efforts recognized once again".
Developed under the guidance of a national expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses over 22 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to inform its scores. The measures look at how well hospitals prevent errors and harm, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to protect patients.
