Mansfield ISD inducted a new class into the Hall of Honor on Saturday, naming a legendary girls basketball player, football star, state champion girls basketball coach and team and a longtime volunteer.
Tammy Lusinger, who guided two Summit High School teams to the state girls basketball championship, was inducted, along with her 2012 Lady Jags squad, which won the 4A state title. The 2009 team, which won the 5A state championship, was inducted in 2017.
Lusinger coached the Summit team from 2007-2015, compiling a record of 229-65. She began working at Summit in 2002 as an assistant to Samantha Morrow.
The 2012 Summit Lady Jags earned a 37-3 record to win the UIL 4A State Championship. The 20-member squad finished the season with a 21-game win streak, capped with a 45-42 victory over Rockwall in the title game.

Tevin Mitchel recorded 64 tackles and 30 solo tackles as cornerback for Legacy High from 2007-2011, being named the Broncos’ Defensive MVP and Outstanding Defensive Back in 2010. He also earned All-District Second Team honors. Mitchel played for the University of Arkansas, where he notched 157 tackles, 22 passes defended and four interceptions. He was drafted by Washington in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Stacy Campbell led the Mansfield Lady Tigers basketball team from 1985-1989, where she averaged 19.5 points per game and eight rebounds. She was named to the First Team All District, All Area and All Region teams. Campbell went on to play for the University of Texas at Arlington, where she started all four years. She finished as third all-time leading scorer in Lady Mav history, and a member of the 1,000-point club.
Raymond Meeks graduated from Mansfield High School, but made his mark on district sports as a volunteer. In 2003, he helped start the girls holiday basketball tournament, where he served as tournament director from 2003-2013. In 2013, he formed the Mansfield Invitational Inc., which managed the girls tournament and added the boys tournament in 2014. In 2017, the Mansfield Invitational added the fall volleyball tournament.
In 2013, he helped form the Mansfield ISD Hall of Honor and served as chairman from 2013-2017.
The inductees were honored with a reception on Saturday at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts.
The honorees’ accomplishments are recorded on plaques that will be displayed in the Hall of Honor at the community room at Vernon Newsom Stadium.
