The Mansfield ISD’s football weekend got an early start with two of the district’s teams recording victories on Thursday night.
Legacy (4-3, 2-1 District 3-6A) topped Saginaw Boswell,36-30, at R.L. Anderson Stadium. The victory moves the Broncos into asecond-place tie with Mansfield in the district standings with three games leftin the regular season.
Mansfield (3-4, 2-1 3-6A) defeated Crowley on the road,28-14. The Tigers and Broncos will settle their deadlock in the districtstandings when they meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at Vernon Newsom Stadium.
In Thursday’s other district game, Lake Ridge (4-2, 1-23-6A) fell to North Crowley, 62-17, at Newsom Stadium.
Tonight, Summit (4-1, 3-0 3-5A II) and Timberview (4-2,3-0 3-5A II) meet at 7 p.m. at NewsomStadium. The Jaguars and Wolves sit second and third in the district standings,trailing first-place Argyle.
