Timberview senior brings home state title in long jump

High school track athletes brought home several medals and a state championship title from the UIL State Track & Field Meet on May 12-13 at the Mike A. Meyers Stadium in Austin.

Timberview High School senior Taylor Fingers earned the 5A State Championship title in the girls long jump. Fingers was also a state runner-up in the triple jump.

Additionally, the Timberview girls took third in the 4x100-meter relay. The relay team was comprised of Fingers, Norah Nwonumah, Skye Fields and Hanyla Milligan. Timberview’s Alex Moore placed third in the 110-meter dash, and fellow Wolf Cameron Bates earned second place in the 300-meter race.

Nathan Breese represented Mansfield High School in the wheelchair division, earning third place in shot put, second place in the 100-meter dash and second place in the 400-meter dash.
