Obituary: Michael Lynn McKinney

Michael Lynn McKinney, 82, of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022. He was born in Shreveport, Louis., on July 13, 1939. Mike graduated from UTA with a degree in accounting in 1971 and from TCU with a BBA in 1973. He married Karen McKinney on April 18, 1986, in Arlington. Mike joined the Air Force in 1981 and remained on active duty until he retired after achieving the rank of colonel. He had many passions: flying private airplanes, making model airplanes for his grandsons and being a docent at the Civil War museum.

Preceded in death by both his father and mother, Gordon and Edna McKinney, his two older brothers, Joe and Gordon McKinney, and his first wife Judy McKinney.

He is survived by his wife, Karen, stepchildren Scot (Marva) McChain and Kelly (Michael) Barton and 7 grandchildren, Kelsey, Kate, Jack, Ryan, Tess, Adam and Asa, nieces, Susan, Jacque, Carla and Andrea and nephew, Randy.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
