Methodist Mansfield welcomes first baby of the year

The new year brought Mansfield a new resident at 1:55 a.m. on Jan. 1.  Helena Dodson gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Malaysia Louyse at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. Weighing in at 5 pounds, 9 ounces, and 19 inches long, Malaysia was delivered by Dr. Heather Gardow.

New dad Joseph Dodson Jr. was thrilled to welcome his fifth child into the family.

Joseph and Helena Dodson live in Arlington.

Helena is a teacher at a day care in Mansfield.

The new parents received a Methodist Mansfield gift basket and a new baby book to help Malaysia get a head start on reading as part of the Read to Me Program. All babies born at Methodist Mansfield receive a new baby book provided by Methodist Mansfield, Mansfield Sunrise Rotary and Mansfield ISD.
