Methodist Mansfield Medical Center will host "Safe Treats & Healthy Streets," a unique community event that combines the fun of Halloween with vital health and safety initiatives.

The event will be from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 28 at Methodist Mansfield’s Women Center Entrance Parking lot, 2700 E. Broad St.

Youngsters dressed up in their favorite costumes are invited to join the Costume Parade. The best costume will win an award.

Participants can visit decorated car trunks filled with treats for the little ones along with the Barbie van. Families can enjoy games, crafts and entertainment for all ages.

There will be gun safety awareness and education along with gun safety locks. Free Narcan training and Narcan Kits will also be available to eligible participants while supplies last from the City of Mansfield Fire Department showing how this life-saving medication can reverse opioid overdoses.

People can also bring their unused or expired medications for safe and anonymous disposal during the event.

"Safe Treats & Healthy Streets" is more than a Halloween event; it's an opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate safely and learn about critical health and safety topics. Whether you're interested in festive fun, Narcan awareness or responsible medication disposal, this event has something for everyone,” says Methodist Mansfield Medical Center spokesperson Angel Biasatti.
