Mansfield swimmers make history

District history was made at the 2023 UIL 6A Swimming and Diving State Meet on Feb. 18.

The Mansfield High School girls team is the first girls team in the district to earn a state medal as a team. Additionally, junior Elise Clift is the first female state swim champion at Mansfield High School. She earned a gold medal in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.44, and gold in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:46.20.

Overall, the Lady Tigers brought home five medals from the Feb. 18 competition.

Elise Clift, Gracie Walker, Katie Walker and Natalie Do earned bronze medals in the 200-yard medley relay and silver medals in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Katie Walker earned a silver medal in the 100-yard butterfly.

In total, Mansfield ISD sent 25 swim athletes to the state competition.
