The Mansfield Police Department arrested Christian Rewoldt, 65, on charges of possessing child pornography, a third-degree felony, Nov. 29. The investigation began after detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on Aug. 23. Information received indicated that Rewoldt had downloaded multiple files containing explicit sexual material involving minors.
On Aug. 30, the Mansfield SWAT Team executed a search warrant at Rewoldt's residence. Officers discovered various electronic devices suspected of containing child pornography. These devices were collected for forensic analysis. Officers also found a laptop bearing a Crowley ISD sticker, revealing that Rewoldt had a contractual role as a psychologist within their district.
Rewoldt was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, Det. Sheldon Peacock is seeking the public's assistance to determine whether there are any potential victims who may have had contact with Rewoldt. While there is no evidence at this time that the suspect had inappropriate contact during his contractual work at Crowley ISD, the department is releasing this information out of an abundance of caution based on the nature of these charges. Peacock can be reached at [email protected] or 817-276-4741.
