A former Mansfield ISD school board member has returned to fill the seat that was left vacant after school board president Courtney Lackey Wilson resigned July 1.

The board of trustees appointed Darrell Sneed to the Place 7 seat at the school board meeting July 27. His term will expire in May 2022 when a special election will be held for the final year of Wilson's term.

Sneed previously held the Place 6 seat. He left the school board in 2020 when he chose not to run for re-election.

The school board’s decision to appoint Sneed back onto the board is effective immediately.
