The Lake Ridge boys basketball team made it to the UIL Class 6A State Tournament on March 8, but fell to Plano East, 61-45, at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Plano East went on to win the state title March 9, downing Stony Edge, 53-41, to maintain a perfect 40-0 season.
The Eagles (32-7) cruised through the postseason, winning five games by an average margin of 12 points, including a nine-point victory over Rockwall in the 5A Region II final. This was Lake Ridge’s first trip to the boys state basketball tournament.
Mansfield, Texas, is a booming city, nestled between Fort Worth and Dallas, but with a personality all its own.
