Lake Ridge falls in state basketball semifinal

The Lake Ridge boys basketball team made it to the UIL Class 6A State Tournament on March 8, but fell to Plano East, 61-45, at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Plano East went on to win the state title March 9, downing Stony Edge, 53-41, to maintain a perfect 40-0 season.

The Eagles ‍(32-7) cruised through the postseason, winning five games by an average margin of 12 points, including a nine-point victory over Rockwall in the 5A Region II final. This was Lake Ridge’s first trip to the boys state basketball tournament.
