A pair of shoes here and there, a couple of toys left lying around, a few dishes in the sink, multiple stacks of mail and books. It doesn't seem like much but when all of these little items are unkept it can make it easier to add to the mess and it makes the house look unsightly.
While it may frustrate you that a few things out of place make the whole place look messy, you have to look at it the other way also. Picking up a few things can really make the house look well maintained.
Give yourself a little challenge. Can you pick up five things before you eat your breakfast? Can you put five things in their rightful place before you walk out that door? Little things do mean a lot and if you can do a few little things along the way, you will see the reward.
Surprisingly, this practice works well in many areas of life. Replacing a few bad food or drink choices with something healthy adds up to better overall health and isn't a complete lifestyle overhaul. Try it!
